Our Inspiration

My name is Ricky Thein. There is nothing I love more than hosting a trivia event. But it took me a long time to get here.

After graduating from the University of Central Florida, I spent the next 30 years as a sports journalist and then teaching sports journalism.

But in early 2024, I decided I wanted to be a trivia host. It was the best decision I’ve ever made. I’m having the time of my life.

But you may be asking, if your name is Ricky, why is your company called Wally’s Trivia?

Wally is the name of my dad. He died in 2018 at the age of 83. He was the smartest and greatest man I’ve ever known.

He instilled a love of learning in me that I will take with me forever. So, I figured the best way to honor him would be to name my company after him.

And that’s how we have Wally’s Trivia.
